It’s easy to get caught up in the outrage, that’s why it’s important to learn back sometimes and look at the data. In a new study released today, researchers took on the prevailing myth that the events of September 11, 2001 were an act of violent terrorism by pointing out the fact that the infamous “9/11 flights” were, in fact, 93% peaceful.

“A lot of people think those flights were all violent hostage situations and fiery crashes, but after analyzing the flight logs, we found that 93% of the flights were actually quite peaceful and normal. Of course, you don’t hear that perspective in the news which has the incentive to frame things as outrageously as possible.”

The study went on to find that although a few thousand people died that day, the majority of people actually did not die. Wow, that really puts the events in a whole new light! I don’t know about you, but this reporter is certainly realizing that maybe Al Qaeda isn’t so bad after all.
